Hello Bookworms, I’ve always been the type of reader who prefers to read in a way some call binging. It’s just how I am. If I love a book (which I most likely have to finish), I will not stop until it’s done. And if that means reading a book for four hours straight, then so be it.
This has pros and cons, but I refuse to look at the negatives as…I believe in living in ignorance. What is it they say? Ignorance is bliss. They must be right. This past month, now that my second year has ended, I have had more time to read for enjoyment. Wow. What a concept. My time isn’t spent pouring over textbooks but consuming an unhealthy amount of literature differently.
I’m unsure why, but I love nothing more than starting. Book and finish it right away. I am so engaged and captivated by the writing and the plot that I cannot even TRY and do anything else. Of course, I am always left feeling empty and confused once I flip that last page. Trying yet failing to recall how life was before I read that book. Do you know what the best solution to this issue is? Onto the next book, baby… exactly. What a beautiful cycle.
This is a mini-list of books I’ve binged and LOVED in the past few weeks. I’ll specify if a full review is coming (whenever I say full review, I mean on the blog, as I review EVERY novel regardless on my Goodreads). I would also like to add that almost all of these if they weren’t gifted to me or offered through an influencer program, are from the = library! I am an avid library user, perhaps number one, if I’m being bold.
I advocate for everything about the library, the books, and the community and the escape it provides for underprivileged children; essentially, I think the library deserves much more funding and should be expanded as much as possible. There are so many resources that anyone can benefit from; it’s an incredible physical and online place.
The long-awaited list:
- Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
- Happy Place by Emily Henry
- Atomic Habits by James Clear
- The Poem is You by Stephanie Burt
- Drowning by T.J. Newman
- Falling by TJ. Newman
- Almond by Sohn Won-pyung
I review every single read on goodreads, and most of them on my bookstagram. The links can be found on the right hand side of this page! Full reviews will be published on my blog for a few of the books above, as they were so so impactful. I would highly recommend each and every title above. All for different reasons.
Thanks for reading.
