ZEUS: KING OF THE GODS – YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK
Why is it that every tag asks this question? It will never fail to infuriate me. I DON’T HAVE A FAVOURITE I CANNOT PICK; IT PHYSICALLY HURTS ME TO TRY. I shall narrow it down to three favourites I would currently recommend(keyword…it might change tomorrow, who knows).
HERA: QUEEN OF THE GODS – A BADASS FEMALE CHARACTER

JANUS: GOD OF BEGINNINGS – YOUR FAVOURITE DEBUT(S)
Yet another tough one because I’ve read so many notable debuts. This is a little mix of genres, two memoirs, and a remarkably well-written romance. I would strongly recommend reading Educated by Tara Westover(if you are set on ONLY reading one), even if you don’t typically read memoirs, even if you HATE biographies or non-fiction novels. It’s an absolute must-read, one of the most memorable books I’ve ever read and truly goes by incredibly quickly.
ATHENA: GODDESS OF WISDOM – YOUR FAVOURITE NON-FICTION BOOK
I should have read this prompt beforehand, but I guess you guys are fortunate and will be getting many non-fiction recommendations with this post. So finally, we’ve reached a question where I don’t even hesitate with which book I’ll be picking. The Glass Castle is easily my favourite non-fiction book, it’s been that way since I read it over a year ago, and at this point, I’m not sure if that will ever change.
APHRODITE: GODDESS OF LOVE – A BOOK YOU ADORE AND RECOMMEND EVERYONE READ (OTHER THAN YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK!)
OTHER THAN MY FAVOURITE BOOK??? Technically, I can cheat since I don’t have one particular favourite. If a random stranger on the street approached me today, held a gun to my head(not sure why, but I need to add some pressure) and demanded a book recommendation(emphasizing that if it weren’t amazing, they would be….incredibly disappointed), I would say The Kite Runner. So read it….right now.
HADES: GOD OF THE UNDERWORLD – AN EVIL BOOK YOU WISH DIDN’T EXIST
Now, this is a good one; if I had the incredible power of deleting a book off the face of this earth, I would pick The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. This is interesting because this isn’t necessarily a widely hated book. On the contrary, it’s pretty loved by the book community(don’t cancel me??). But there is just SOMETHING, something about the characters, the premise, the writing that not only irks me but makes me want to die. And let’s not jump on the bandwagon of assuming I didn’t give it a chance; not only did I dislike it the first time I read it, but after hearing such rave reviews, I reread it, thinking, maybe I’m missing something, perhaps THIS TIME will be different. But, alas, it was not; it was far worse. So all I will say in a positive light is that it isn’t evil as the question puts it, but…it’s relatively close.
POSEIDON: GOD OF THE SEA & EARTHQUAKES – A BEAUTIFUL & GROUND-BREAKING BOOK
New challenge: can Erin write a post without mentioning A Little Life? Update: she can’t. I will never shut up about this book. Please accept it; I am bound to it.
APOLLO: GOD OF THE ARTS – A BEAUTIFUL BOOK COVER

HYPNOS: GOD OF SLEEP – A BOOK SO BORING YOU ALMOST FELL ASLEEP

HERMES: MESSENGER OF THE GODS – A BOOK YOU SPED THROUGH
I am a speedy Gonzales when it comes to reading almost any novel, but I’ll finish those in about 2-3 hours when it comes to thrillers. The combined suspense, thrilling plot and the fact that I am typically utterly terrified and cannot continue with my day without knowing what happens, usually ends with me going through them reasonably fast.
